Addverb marks 10 years with expansion into humanoid robotics and Physical AI

0 3

Warehouse automation and industrial robotics company Addverb has completed a decade of operations and announced plans to expand into humanoid robotics and Physical AI, as it looks to broaden its automation portfolio beyond warehouses and manufacturing systems.

The company said it will launch Elixis, a walking humanoid robot designed for industrial environments, later this year. The humanoid is intended to perform repetitive and hazardous tasks across logistics, manufacturing and industrial facilities. Addverb plans to deploy 3,000 humanoid robots by 2030 as part of its long-term Physical AI strategy.

Earlier this year, the company introduced Elixis-W, which it describes as India’s first domestically manufactured wheeled humanoid robot built for industrial applications.

Expanding beyond warehouse automation

Over the past decade, Addverb has focused primarily on warehouse automation and material handling systems. The company now says it is extending its capabilities into intelligent robotic systems capable of operating in more dynamic industrial environments.

According to the company, its manufacturing facilities currently have the capacity to produce up to 100,000 robots annually. Addverb operates across India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and several other international markets.

The company reported revenue of ₹800 crore in FY2024-25 and has set a target of over ₹1,400 crore by FY2026-27.

Focus shifts towards Physical AI

Speaking on the company’s next phase of growth, Sangeet Kumar, Co-founder and CEO, Addverb, said robotics is moving beyond automation towards intelligent systems capable of learning and adapting in real-world environments.

“The past decade has been about building India’s capabilities in robotics and intelligent automation for the world. What began with warehouse automation has evolved into a broader vision encompassing Physical AI, humanoid robotics and intelligent systems that can learn, adapt and work alongside people in dynamic environments.”

He added that the company sees the coming decade as a period when humanoid robots become increasingly integrated into industrial operations.

“We believe the next decade will mark a defining shift in how robots become an integral part of industries and everyday life. With its engineering talent and growing innovation ecosystem, India is well positioned to contribute to this transformation. Our focus is on building globally competitive robotics and AI technologies from India.”

Supporting industrial automation

Addverb said its expansion into humanoid robotics complements its existing portfolio of warehouse automation products, including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robotic sorting solutions and picking technologies.

The company currently serves more than 350 customers across industries, including manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals, logistics and consumer goods.

Its customer base includes organisations such as Reliance, Hindustan Unilever, PepsiCo, DHL, Maersk, Flipkart, ITC, Marico, Johnson & Johnson and PAR Pharma.

Manufacturing and global presence

Headquartered in India, Addverb has manufacturing facilities in the country, research and development centres in India and the United States, and subsidiaries in Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands and the US.

The company said its strategy continues to focus on designing, manufacturing and integrating robotics systems for warehouse and industrial automation, while expanding into next-generation AI-enabled robotics platforms aimed at supporting more complex industrial operations.
