AMD has launched the AMD Client Tokenomics Calculator, a tool designed to help enterprise IT decision-makers assess the cost implications of deploying AI workloads at scale.
The calculator allows organisations to compare estimated costs across cloud-only, local and hybrid deployment models based on their AI usage and infrastructure strategy. Users can customise variables including team size, token consumption, cloud AI models and the mix of deployment environments.
The tool provides forward-looking estimates of total cost of ownership and cumulative spending over a period of up to five years. It also calculates potential break-even timelines for local and hybrid deployments compared with cloud-only infrastructure.
Based on the inputs, the calculator recommends a deployment approach with the lowest estimated cost and suggests an AMD hardware configuration for the workload being modelled.
The launch comes as enterprises assess the economics of moving AI workloads beyond experimentation and into broader production use, where compute consumption, model selection and deployment architecture can have a significant impact on overall costs.
