Tata Electronics and Fujifilm have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a semiconductor materials ecosystem around Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat.
Under the agreement, Fujifilm will develop and supply semiconductor materials for Tata Electronics’ Dholera fab. The companies will also work on localising critical raw materials and supporting Indian chemical manufacturers in producing high-purity chemicals through technology, quality assurance and manufacturing process expertise.
Fujifilm plans to invest approximately Rs 800 crore to establish a semiconductor materials plant in Dholera Special Investment Region in phases. The facility is intended to support the supply of materials to Tata Electronics’ fab.
Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD, Tata Electronics, said the partnership would address the materials supply chain around the Dholera facility.

Teiichi Goto, President, Representative Director and CEO, Fujifilm Holdings Corporation, said India’s semiconductor market represented an opportunity for the company’s materials business.
