Bank of Baroda has launched ‘bob Cyber Veeru’, a cybersecurity mascot designed to strengthen customer awareness around digital safety and help users adopt safer banking practices.
The pan-India initiative uses simple, practical, and relatable content to educate customers about common and emerging digital fraud risks. Through formats such as short videos, infographics, quick tips and FAQs, bob Cyber Veeru guides customers on how to identify warning signs, verify requests and take appropriate action before sharing information or approving transactions.
The campaign focuses on fraud scenarios including phishing and malicious links, fraudulent KYC requests, fake customer care calls, QR code and UPI scams, screen-sharing frauds and other evolving forms of digital fraud.
Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said the initiative is aimed at making digital safety guidance easier for customers to understand and apply. She added that greater awareness can help customers recognise risks, make informed decisions and use digital banking services with greater confidence.
The bob Cyber Veeru campaign is being promoted across Bank of Baroda’s branches, ATMs, website and social media platforms, along with email and SMS communication, print, outdoor and radio campaigns.
As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the bank will also conduct awareness programmes at educational institutions, employee awareness sessions, and recognise employees who have contributed to preventing cyber fraud incidents.
Through the initiative, Bank of Baroda aims to reinforce safe digital banking habits and encourage customers to remain vigilant against evolving cyber fraud threats.
