Nemetschek Group has introduced a range of premium AI offerings for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) professionals, integrating AI assistants, model analysis and drawing review capabilities into its software products.
The offerings — Archicad Max, Allplan Max and Bluebeam Max — are designed to automate routine tasks, improve access to project information and support workflows across building design, engineering and construction. The solutions run on the company’s Nemetschek Intelligence Platform, a common AI and data foundation.
The announcement, made on October 29, comes as construction and engineering firms face increasing project complexity, tight deadlines and staffing shortages. Nemetschek said its AI tools are intended to reduce the time professionals spend searching for information, checking drawings and models, and completing repetitive work.
Archicad Max, developed by Nemetschek subsidiary Graphisoft, is aimed at architects working on complex projects. The subscription includes a beta version of an AI assistant that can perform multi-step tasks within an Archicad model, along with AI Assistant Spaces that use a firm’s own project information and standards to answer questions. It also includes an updated AI Visualizer for generating design visualisations.
Archicad Max subscribers will also receive early access to Nemetschek Creator, a browser-based platform for early-stage design. Full access is planned for when the commercial version is released in 2027, the company said.
For engineering teams, Allplan Max 2027 extends AI capabilities across Nemetschek’s engineering software portfolio, including Allplan, SCIA, FRILO, RISA and SDS2. The tools include AI-powered features for building information modelling (BIM), structural analysis, drafting, formula writing and design support.
The company said early beta users had reported up to 36% faster completion of selected tasks. Engineers will remain responsible for reviewing designs, approving outputs and making final decisions.
Bluebeam Max focuses on construction workflows and extends the company’s Revu software with tools for reviewing drawings and coordinating project information. Available globally since May 2026, it includes Smart Review, which identifies potential design discrepancies, gaps in project scope and missing information; Smart Overlay, which compares drawing sets to identify changes; and Magic Markups, which automates repetitive markups and quantity takeoffs.
The software also includes a stitching feature that combines drawing sheets into a single navigable view, particularly for large infrastructure projects. Nemetschek said more than 2,000 early adopters had reported productivity gains in preconstruction, design coordination and construction management. Since September 2026, Bluebeam Max has also been available free of charge to eligible students and educators worldwide.
Focus on interoperability and data control
Alongside the new AI capabilities, Nemetschek is emphasising interoperability, allowing its software to connect with third-party tools and systems rather than restricting users to a single vendor’s environment.
The company’s AI assistant uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to interact with software, while also enabling connections with third-party AI applications. Archicad Max includes a public MCP server in beta that allows desktop AI applications to connect directly to Archicad models.
Bluebeam Max supports MCP integrations with Anthropic Claude, GitHub Copilot CLI and AnythingLLM, enabling users to generate markups and retrieve project insights through natural-language prompts.
The company is also connecting workflows across different design tools. Its Connected Studio Sessions feature links Bluebeam markups to corresponding locations in Revit drawings and model views, connecting PDF-based reviews with building information modelling workflows.
Nemetschek said its approach is based on open standards, including Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), which allow building information to be exchanged between different software platforms and project partners.
The company said its AI tools are designed to assist with analysis and repetitive work while leaving professionals responsible for reviewing outputs and making decisions.
Shared AI platform
The three offerings build on Nemetschek’s earlier AI initiatives, including its AI Layer announced in 2024 and the rollout of its AI Assistant across brands from 2025.
According to the company, the shared Nemetschek Intelligence Platform is intended to allow AI capabilities developed for one product or discipline to be extended across its broader software portfolio.
Nemetschek did not disclose pricing for the three Max subscriptions or provide further details on their commercial rollout beyond the availability timelines specified for individual products.
