EXL acquires Aimpoint Digital to expand enterprise AI engineering capabilities

0 0

EXL has acquired data and AI consulting firm Aimpoint Digital to expand its enterprise AI capabilities and help clients move AI initiatives from pilot projects to production deployments. The acquisition adds expertise in AI engineering and data platforms, including Anthropic, Databricks and Snowflake, to EXL’s existing portfolio.

The acquisition is aimed at strengthening EXL’s ability to support enterprises across the AI implementation lifecycle, from strategy and architecture to engineering, deployment, evaluation and ongoing operations.

Acquisition adds 250 AI and data professionals

Aimpoint Digital brings approximately 250 professionals, including AI engineers, platform architects, analytics consultants, decision scientists and AI strategists, to EXL.

The addition is expected to expand EXL’s forward-deployed engineering capabilities, allowing its teams to work more closely with enterprise customers on AI projects. Forward-deployed engineers typically work within or alongside client teams to understand business requirements, integrate technology into existing systems and support deployment in operational environments.

EXL said the combined capabilities would help reduce handoffs between consulting, engineering and implementation teams, while providing customers with a more continuous engagement from AI planning through production and managed operations.

Deeper expertise across AI platforms

Aimpoint Digital also brings experience in implementing data and AI solutions using platforms from Anthropic, Databricks and Snowflake. The acquisition is expected to deepen EXL’s expertise across these technology ecosystems and expand the range of platforms available to its enterprise clients.

The companies plan to combine Aimpoint Digital’s AI strategy and engineering capabilities with EXL’s industry knowledge, data infrastructure and agentic AI solutions. The focus will be on applying AI to business-critical workflows and supporting deployments at enterprise scale.

Rohit Kapoor, chairman and chief executive officer of EXL, said the acquisition would bring together Aimpoint Digital’s engineering talent with EXL’s industry expertise and operational capabilities to support clients across the AI transformation process.

Builds on EXL’s AI acquisitions

The acquisition follows EXL’s recent acquisition of iMerit, which specialises in AI model training, evaluation and reinforcement learning.

Together, the acquisitions are intended to extend EXL’s capabilities across different stages of enterprise AI development and deployment. While iMerit adds expertise in preparing and evaluating AI models, Aimpoint Digital strengthens the strategy, platform engineering and implementation side of the business.

EXL said the combined portfolio would support clients from AI strategy and architecture through engineering, production deployment and managed AI operations.
