Qlik, ICT Academy renew partnership to train one million more learners in data and AI
Qlik and ICT Academy have renewed their partnership to provide data literacy, analytics and artificial intelligence training to one million additional students and educators across India.
The renewed memorandum of understanding will expand programmes including educator training, Learnathons and university Centres of Excellence. The partnership has so far reached more than 200,000 students and educators, according to the companies.
Under the next phase, the two organisations will work with universities and colleges to integrate data literacy, analytics, data integration and AI into curricula, while expanding hands-on learning programmes and certification pathways.
“AI readiness starts with data literacy,” said Varun Babbar, Managing Director, India and SAARC, Qlik.
“India needs graduates who can do more than use AI tools. They must understand the data behind those tools, evaluate outputs critically and apply analytics to practical problems. Our collaboration with ICT Academy gives institutions a scalable way to build those capabilities. This next phase will help one million more students and educators turn classroom learning into skills they can demonstrate,” Babbar said.
V Srikanth, Chief Executive Officer, ICT Academy, said data and AI skills were becoming relevant across disciplines.
“Data and AI capabilities are becoming fundamental across disciplines, not only for students pursuing technology careers,” Srikanth said.
“By combining ICT Academy’s institutional reach and educator-development experience with Qlik’s technology and learning resources, we can help universities embed practical, workforce-relevant learning more deeply into the student experience and strengthen pathways to employment,” he added.
The renewed partnership builds on the Qlik Academic Program’s engagement with more than 1,100 universities, colleges and institutions across India. The programme provides participating institutions with access to data and analytics training, curricula, qualifications and certification pathways.
Qlik and ICT Academy signed the preliminary partnership agreement in Chennai in the presence of Tamil Nadu government officials and representatives from the academic and technology sectors.
