365squared launches AI-based platform to help telecom operators detect voice fraud

365squared, a Route Mobile company within Proximus Global, has launched an AI-powered platform designed to help mobile and fixed-line operators detect and prevent fraudulent calls before they reach subscribers.

The platform, 365callguard, analyses voice traffic to identify seven types of fraud: vishing, caller line identification (CLI) spoofing, Wangiri, international revenue share fraud (IRSF), SIM box fraud, flash calls and robocalls. It combines dedicated AI models with rule-based detection to provide real-time analysis and visibility into fraud-related activity.

The launch comes as telecom operators face risks from voice scams that use social engineering and other techniques. Such fraud can lead to financial losses and affect subscriber trust, the company said.

Platform supports real-time fraud mitigation

365callguard is designed to integrate with existing operator infrastructure. Depending on network capabilities and operator policies, it can trigger actions such as blocking calls, modifying caller ID information or sending alerts to subscribers.

The company said the platform is intended to help operators identify suspicious activity and respond before fraudulent calls reach customers. It did not disclose details on customer deployments, detection rates or the volume of fraud the platform has prevented.

“Voice fraud is evolving rapidly and becoming more difficult to detect using traditional methods,” said Tonio Ellul, chief executive officer of 365squared. He said operators need systems that can identify suspicious activity and stop it before it affects customers.

Extends fraud protection across voice and messaging

365callguard adds voice protection to 365squared’s existing 365smsguard platform, which focuses on messaging fraud. The company said the two offerings extend its fraud prevention capabilities across voice and messaging channels.

365squared’s solutions are part of Proximus Global’s communications portfolio, which also includes BICS, Route Mobile and Telesign.

Tushar Agnihotri, CEO of Route Mobile, said security had become a strategic priority for operators as fraud techniques become more sophisticated.
