Vishal Sikka-led Infosys on Thursday unveiled the next level of its new age services – design thinking, platforms and knowledge-based IT – through an umbrella offering called Aikido. This enhanced level of IT services are expected to simplify the complexity of technologies while also leading to creation of innovative solutions.

Addressing Infosys employees, CEO Vishal Sikka said these services are aimed at helping clients address three key aspects of their business: a non-disruptive renewal and simplification of their existing landscapes; introduction of new offerings and business models in a dynamic business environment, and creating a culture of innovation in their organisations.

“These three new services will be the key to execution of our strategy,” Sikka said. Aikido is a Japanese martial art form.

Aikido is expected the lift the level of services, according to Infosys. The first of these services is Ki – a knowledge-based management and evolution of landscapes which captures the knowledge within an organisation.

This is expected to bring in the cost optimisation and create a new platform for adopting new technology.

The term Do refers to the service offering on Design Thinking and design-led initiatives that will provide Infosys the framework for finding, understanding and defining the problems that are most important to clients and their businesses. “We cannot be just problem solvers and need to be problem finders,” said Sikka. The Ki and Do services will be offered by Infosys Consulting.

Ai refers to platforms, and platforms as a service to build intelligent solutions. It is also about platforms that help to harmonise and unify the disjointed initiatives in enterprises – and help build solutions to emerging business problems.

“This is an important step to further accelerate the execution of our strategy to renew existing services and move into entirely new areas, as well as to tie together our existing service lines to the strategic priorities of our clients,” Sikka said.

Infosys under Sikka has been following the renew and new strategy which looks to reinvigorate the way its existing services are being delivered currently while also remaining focused on coming out with new age solutions. Infosys has already laid out an ambitious target of $20 billion in revenue by 2020 of which around $2.5 billion is projected to come from next generation services led by technologies such as automation and artificial intelligence. For the first quarter of FY16 the IT major had reported a 4.5% sequential growth in dollar revenues which was the highest in 15 quarters.
