L&T Finance Ltd. has partnered with Pine Labs to introduce agentic commerce and payments on the L&T Finance PLANET app, with autonomous flight bookings as the first use case.
The partnership uses Pine Labs Payments Protocol (P3P) and the Grantex protocol to allow AI agents to execute transactions within a governed framework. The companies said the initial flight-booking capability will enable customers to move from conversational assistance to end-to-end transaction execution.
“Our endeavor at L&T Finance has always been to leverage cutting-edge digital innovations to simplify financial and lifestyle journeys for our customers,” said Manish Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive – Urban Unsecured Assets, Payments & Digital Partnerships, L&T Finance. “Partnering with Pine Labs to introduce an Agentic Storefront on the L&T Finance PLANET App marks a major shift from conversational assistance to true transaction execution.”
Gupta said flight bookings would be the first use case, with the architecture intended to extend to other merchant categories.
“We are entering a new era where commerce is increasingly driven by intent rather than clicks, searches, and manual decisions,” said Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Technology Officer, Pine Labs. “With P3P and the Grantex protocol, Pine Labs is building the trust infrastructure that enables buyer and seller agents to transact securely and autonomously.”
Kumar said the partnership with L&T Finance would enable agent-driven commerce on the PLANET app while maintaining transaction controls and accountability.
