ProHance launches AI Adoption Index to measure enterprise AI ROI

0 1

ProHance has launched the AI Adoption Index, an enterprise scorecard designed to measure AI adoption and assess whether its use is authorised, embedded in day-to-day work and translating into business value.

The launch comes amid growing concerns around unmanaged AI usage, commonly referred to as shadow AI. According to an industry study cited by ProHance, incidents involving shadow AI accounted for 43% of all data breaches in 2026, compared with 20% in 2025. Among organisations reporting an AI-related security incident, 92% lacked adequate AI access controls.

While enterprises can track which employees use AI tools and how frequently, measuring whether that usage is approved, contributes to business processes and delivers tangible outcomes remains a challenge. The AI Adoption Index seeks to address this gap by providing leadership with an evidence-based view of AI adoption across teams.

The scorecard is structured around three functions: Map, Measure and Mitigate. The Map function provides visibility into AI usage across teams and places them on a maturity scale ranging from AI-Aware to AI-First. Measure identifies teams lagging in adoption and assesses the capacity being freed up for higher-value work. Mitigate focuses on detecting unauthorised AI tools, routing them through review workflows and maintaining an audit trail.

According to ProHance, existing enterprise tools often address different aspects of AI adoption in isolation. Usage analytics track activity, while governance and security platforms manage approvals and spending. Separate tools monitor business outputs. The AI Adoption Index brings these dimensions together to provide visibility across AI tools and teams.

“ProHance is envisioning solving a critical problem of assessing AI’s impact on the workforce by helping leaders understand how to reskill and reshape their workforce with AI by measuring the actual impact of AI and humans together,” said Ankur Dhingra, CEO, ProHance.

He added that the Index enables leaders to assess who is using which tools, the depth of adoption, associated costs and instances of unapproved AI usage, using evidence from actual work to guide decisions.

The launch follows ProHance’s introduction of an outcome measurement layer for Outsourcing Performance Management (OPM), which is designed to provide enterprises with independent visibility into the work delivered by outsourced and contingent teams.

Through these initiatives, the company is focusing on helping organisations measure workforce and AI performance together, as enterprises move towards more AI-integrated operating models.

ProHance says its platform serves more than 450,000 users across over 55 countries. It was named a Star Performer in the Everest Group People Analytics Platforms PEAK Matrix 2026.
